User Guide
A quick-reference manual for every part of this app. You can also tap the small circled "?" icons next to individual fields for a short explanation right where you need it.
The two tabs
Calculator estimates cost and time for a charge you haven't done yet (or are doing right now) — you type in numbers, it computes.
Charging Journal is your logbook of charges that actually happened — you record what really occurred, and it builds real averages and reports over time. These are separate on purpose: estimates and actuals shouldn't get mixed together.
Calculator — Your Charge
Enter your battery's total capacity (kWh), where it's at now (%), and your target (%). This is the foundation for every other number on the receipt.
Calculator — Measured Rate / Min
Optional. If you've timed a real charge, this replaces guesswork with your actual rate. Three ways to enter it:
- % gained over minutes — e.g. "gained 1% in 4.78 minutes."
- Clock times — enter a start time+%, and an end time+%; the app works out the rate itself.
- Live session from charger — if the charger's own screen shows running duration and kWh delivered, enter those directly — most accurate, no % guessing needed.
Once a valid measurement exists, it automatically takes over the time/cost math — no need to also type a charging power (kW).
Calculator — Loss Buffer, Pricing Model, Station Rates
Loss Buffer adds extra kWh on top to account for charging losses or price surges.
Pricing Model lets you toggle energy-based cost (₱/kWh), a per-minute session fee, or both — independent of whether you're just estimating duration.
Station Rates only shows the Charging Power (kW) field when it's actually needed (i.e. you haven't supplied a measured rate).
Saving from the Calculator
🚗 Vehicles — save Brand/Model/Plate/Capacity once; reuse everywhere (Calculator chips and the Journal's vehicle dropdown). Edit (✎) or delete (✕) anytime.
🕓 Saved estimates — "Save this session" stores the *entire* calculator setup, not just the total. Tap ✎ on a saved estimate to reload it exactly as it was and tweak it; saving again updates it in place instead of duplicating. Save as many, or as few, as you like per vehicle.
Charging Journal — Logging an event
Tap "Log an actual charging event" to expand the form. Pick a saved vehicle, enter the date/times and battery % (or the exact kWh from your charger if you have it — more accurate), where you charged (or check "Charged at home"), the charging type, and whether it was Paid or Free.
Charging Journal — Vehicle Dashboard & Insights
Pick a vehicle to see its real averages: kWh/min, min/kWh, min per 1%, cost per minute, cost per kWh, cost per session, and time per session. Insights just below uses that same vehicle selection — combining sessions across different vehicles wouldn't mean anything, so nothing shows until you pick one.
Charging Journal — Filters & Export
Narrow the Dashboard, Insights, and the visible log list by date (all / specific / custom range), station, charging type, or paid/free. Export to Excel downloads exactly what's currently filtered, with every field, as a real spreadsheet.
Charge Timer & Alarms
At the bottom of the Calculator, pick which ETA to count down to:
- Duration estimate — uses "Est. charge time" (includes buffer), counted from the moment you tap Start.
- Measured rate estimate — uses your timed real-world rate only, also counted from Start.
- Custom time — pick an exact clock time yourself (e.g. "6:00 PM").
- Custom duration — type a length of time remaining instead, straight from your car's own dashboard (e.g. some EVs show "5 hrs 18 min to full charge"). The app adds that to right now to get your target.
Tap Start for a live countdown; it plays a loud, repeating alarm and shows a banner when it hits zero, until you tap Dismiss.
Reminder alarms — add as many as you like (e.g. 30 and 15 minutes before). Each can be a quiet Single beep that checks itself off, or Continuous — looping just as loudly as the ETA alarm — until you dismiss it (which only silences that reminder; the countdown to ETA keeps running).
Save as default / Reset to default — save your usual set of reminders as a preset, so you can always snap back to them later even if you've cleared or changed the list for a one-off session.
This only works while the page stays open in your browser — closing the tab stops the countdown, and it can't send a true phone-style notification unless you've granted permission (and on iPhone, added the page to your Home Screen first).
💾 Backup, Restore & Reset
Download a backup file anytime (vehicles + saved estimates + journal, all of it). Restore replaces your current data with a backup file's contents. Reset wipes everything on this device. Each tab/section also has its own smaller "Clear all" for when you only want to empty one thing.
Good to know
- Data is tied to this device/browser. Download a backup occasionally if this matters to you.
- "Total kWh delivered" is marked (actual) when you entered a real meter reading, or (est. from %) when it's calculated from battery percentages.
- Every ✎ loads the full original data back in — nothing is a one-way trip except deleting.
